Tango Calor + Tangopuro

Argentine tango with Mirek Salmon (bandoneon), Daryl Kellie (guitar) and Jimi Can (vocals) plus dancers Tangopuro (Alejandro Angelica & Ornella Torrito)

Tango Calor has performed in France, Italy and Spain and in UK clubs, arts centres and festivals: La Linea (London), La Ronda (Puglia), Glasto Latino, Cheltenham International Tango Festival.  

 

Tangopuro has 27 years' experience in international shows and workshops, blending tradition and innovation in a range of styles from tango salón to milonga, tango canyengue to electrotango.

​Making it up as we go along - an improvisation workshop 

Village Hall, 2.00pm

​

Everyone can improvise! Bring an instrument or your voice. Simple games and exercises will release your musical imagination to create music from scratch. Tim Hill has run improvisation workshops for many years, and has played with some of the country's leading improvising musicians.

Pelléas Ensemble

Parish Church, 7.30pm

 

Henry Roberts (Flute), Oliver Wass (Harp) and Luba Tunnicliffe (Viola) play Purcell, Bax, Couperin, Ravel and more

​

Pelléas have performed extensively across the UK and overseas.  Playing with 'verve and polish' (The Times), they have won awards from the Royal Philharmonic Society and Royal Overseas League, and the Grand Prize at the St Martin-in-the-Fields Chamber Music Competition. In 2024 they were an Ensemble in Residence in Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings.

Sunday 22 June

Pantasy Steel Band

Greenway Playing Field, 1.30pm – 4.30pm  Free of charge

 

The Pantasy Steel Band (or Steel Drum Band as they are sometimes called) are one of The UK’s  finest Steel Bands. They play across the country at weddings, birthday and other events. Their music is a good mix of very laid back traditional Caribbean Music through to more upbeat repertoire including arrangements of well-known songs by artists such as Bob Marley and UB40.

 

Many of the steel band musicians are from the Caribbean.
